Does it cost anything to join?
No — creating a profile and being booked is free. Optional paid plans exist for freelancers who want extra visibility and features, but nobody pays a commission on their fee.
How do I get paid?
You invoice the company directly through the platform — the invoice is generated automatically after the event with your agreed rate on it. AVCrew doesn't hold your money or take a cut.
What do I need before companies can book me?
A completed profile with your disciplines, your UK tax details, and a passed photo-ID identity check. Uploading qualifications and public liability insurance makes your profile considerably stronger, and some features — like offering kit for hire — require PLI on file.
Can I negotiate the rate?
Yes. Every offer shows the proposed fee, and you can counter with your own figure. Nothing is confirmed until both sides have agreed, and the agreed rate is locked on the booking.
What about expenses and overtime?
Submit them against the booking — mileage, materials, extra hours at your agreed rate. Once the company approves them, they're added to your invoice automatically.
